You might have heard rumors about a smart pill going around the office. You would definitely have heard about it if you work on Wall Street or are a lawyer. If you are still in college you know there is a guy who just before final is one of the most popular guys around as he is the guy with the connection that can ensure you getting a “A” on that big exam which could make or break your chances of passing you classes and getting your degree or not.
Well, the stories and rumors are true. Wall Street stock market gurus are popping a pill that raises their IQ and helps them focus better and for a lawyer to be sharper and more alert than his opponent across the room when the judge enters the room.
The name you may know them by is “the pill”, “Smart Drugs”, and “Brain Pill”. However, the correct term is Nootropic and they have been with us since the 1960’s.
Today you are going to learn a bit about some of them, what they can do for you and their effects/side effects as well. You will also learn about how much it takes to get them to work and what it means to “stack them”.
What can Smart Drugs Do For you?
Memory is something that everyone wishes was better. With a Smart Drug like Piracetam, it becomes a reality. Your study time is more productive and you learn more, quicker, and with less effort. Your IQ goes up and with it, your grades.
If you saw the movie “Limitless” or “Lucy”, you see a SciFi version of what is happening right now all across the US today. Students are turning up their brains ability to learn in order to suss their way to the top with less effort and study time.
With the pressures of today, Smart Pills are looked at an easy way to get and stay ahead of the pack. High paying jobs are scarce these days and anything that can make you stand out of the crowd is looked upon as fair and a proper way to get ahead in today’s dog eat dog world.
Your cognitive function sharply increases and you can solve problems in a way that you never thought you could and you are more alert than ever before. Along the way, your senses expand and colors are more intense, flavors more exciting, and you eyes see and notice than you are used to. In effect, you become Einstein and Sherlock Holmes all rolled into one.
Where did they come from?
They are an outgrowth of the 60’s a time when LSD-25 experimentation by people like Tim Leary who advocated “Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out.” Doctors Robert Masters and his wife Jean Huston pioneered research in the effects of LSD and other psychoactive drugs.
They discovered the mind had unplumbed depths and abilities. However, LSD-25 was too dangerous and they attempted to find alternatives to the drugs. The Government at this time also outlawed both the drugs and the research, so they had a double imperative. Their results were summarized in two books, “The Way to Awaken” and “Mind Games”, which was immortalized by the Beatles in the song by the same name.
Other researchers went in other directions and Piracetam was created in Belgium in 1964 by Dr. Corneliu E. Giurgea who originally coined the term “Nootropic” to describe the drug’s use. Piracetam was just the first and since then others of the family of drugs called Racetams as well as a plethora of others have been developed and are legal in the EU and Asia.
The FDA will not ok them in the US as they focus on drugs for dealing with illness and not Human Performance Enhancement. Colleges are outraged as they give a student an unfair advantage over those who don’t use them or who cannot afford their high prices.
Short term effects of Brain Drugs?
The short-term effects of these drugs are striking. Your IQ soars and your ability to absorb information doubles or trebles. They also have an uplifting effect and are sometimes used to treat depression.
The US Air Force is reported using them. 35% of students are/have experimented with them and Stock Trading journals report that as many as half the traders on the “Floor” are using them.
So, it looks like they are being used in much larger numbers than is generally acknowledged and so far no ill effects are being reported.
The Army is also looking into using them For their Future WarFighter program to enhance a soldier’s ability to use the advanced technology that they are expected to function seamlessly with, in combat.
What are the long-term effects?
There are no long-term side effects noted at this time after over 50 years of use. The cognitive and memory effects fade after the use of these drugs is stopped. So, the effects are not permanent.
This means if you want to keep what you got you need to have a constant supply of Nootropics. Fortunately, they are legal in the US and can be purchased in bulk, as they are considered harmless.
Though at this time Piracetam is not being stocked anymore on Amazon, as it is not a natural supplement. It has to be synthesized, which takes it out of the Herbal category of supplements.
However, many other Smart Drugs are available on Amazon.
How much do you have to take to see the results?
Depending on the Smart Drug, you choose it could vary up to 200 mg per dose 2 to 3 times a day. There are those who swear by an 800 mg dose in the morning to turn on their brains before going into the office.
This may account for some of the adverse stomach problems.
Are there any side effects?
There have been reports of headaches, dizziness, Mood swings, heart palpitations and blood pressure swings. Diarrhea and stomach pains have also occurred.
But, for the most part, these drugs are well tolerated and have been in use for decades in Europe and other countries with no ill effects.
What Research is being done?
Almost nothing is being done in the US as to Research, however, Medical Journals in the EU and Asia is chock full of information.
America’s Medical establishment is strangely silent on the subject.
However, some books are available and some companies have released information.
“Stacks” is a slang term that means mixing a group of Smart Drugs/Nootropics together to enhance their effects for a given goal.
Piracetam is one of the best stackers as it goes with many other Smart Pills with no Ill effects.
Some popular stacks are:
l L-theanine + Caffeine
l Piracetam + Choline
l Focus XT + Piracetam
The Ultimate Stack is made up of:
l Alpha GPC
l Aniracetam (morning only)
Final Thoughts on topic of Nootropic and Smart Drugs
This reviewer has been following the controversy of the so-called Smart Pill, Smart Drugs, and Nootropics for some years now. As long as there is a shortcut to any goal there are going to be people who will take it.
Having said that however it is necessary, the FDA and the US government do something. Our education system is falling behind the world and out leadership in the High Tech fields is slipping. China in their newspapers openly advocates Eugenic enhancements and are talking about IQs of 200, 600, and even 1,000. The only way they could even approach any of these numbers is through some form of “Brain Pill”.
I understand the concept of “Fair Play”. But in today’s world is laughing at America because we are behind the times.
To the rest of the world our concept of doing it the fairly is the hard way and is humorous, which is why we keep coming up short in our negotiations with the rest of the world and countries like Iran, North Korean, and China.
We expect people who are taught deceit as a way of getting ahead to follow rules and obey treaties!
Perhaps we need to become a nation of winners again. We should use our advantages. All of them to make ourselves the “Top Dog” in our neighborhood and Smart Drugs can tip the balance in our favor.
We have the technology. We had better start using it before someone else does it first and better.
